About

What we do ...

Sagitta Robotics develops second generation medical robots. A key application area is orthopaedic trauma surgery.

Based on the concepts of computer navigation, Sagitta Robotics seeks to optimise the match of human surgical skills and advanced technology. Like the co-operation between an aircraft captain and an autopilot, the Sagitta Robotics positioning guide is designed to produce consistent navigation accuracy, allowing the human expert to deliver safe and reliable surgical repairs.

The Benefits ...

Sagitta Robotics' aim is to enable surgeons to position pins, screws and guidewires with millimetre accuracy that are "right first time". The surgeon's normal workflow is unaltered: the operation proceeds in the normal way, with the Sagitta Robotics positioning guide giving instant alignment of hardware along the planned insertion track. This offers the prospect of improved patient outcomes, lower X-ray exposure, reduced iatrogenic bone damage and the elimination of outliers needing revision surgery.

Of course in today's climate, enabling clinical excellence is only part of the story. A successful surgeon support system has to be cost effective too. Sagitta Robotics' technology provides a basis for reduced operation times, fewer post-operative bed days, faster training of junior surgeons and less radiographer time. All of these benefits without the substantial capital outlay of a first generation robotic system.

Our Team ...

Sagitta Robotics has a world-class development team that embraces years of professional engineering experience in surgical robotics. Working to the latest international safety and regulatory standards, Sagitta Robotics collaborates with experienced and eminent surgeons to define solutions that are specified by clinical users and designed and crafted to exacting medical engineering requirements.
